SUCCESS - STORIES

Dr. Gayatri Prasad Mishra ,

( Principal, St. Xavier's High School , Fatehpur )

"Explaining Science behind miracles" stands as a groundbreaking program meticulously organized by VICAS Prayagraj, hosted by St. Xavier's High School, Fatehpur. This visionary initiative aims to cultivate a deep appreciation for science among students and the wider society. At its core, the program extends an open invitation to teachers from diverse schools (30+ teachers), welcoming them as master trainers in the realm of science education. These dedicated educators participate in an intensive training regimen meticulously crafted under the banner of "Miracle with Science." They gain valuable insights, pedagogical tools, and innovative teaching techniques that empower them to effectively convey the wonders of science to their own students. As a token of recognition for their commitment to scientific education, these trainers are awarded kits laden with experimental apparatus and educational materials. The impact of "Miracle with Science" extends beyond the confines of teacher training. These kits, equipped with captivating scientific demonstrations, are presented before school students. This dynamic interaction not only instills a sense of wonder and curiosity about science but also serves as an outreach effort to engage with the broader community. Students, as budding scientists, grasp firsthand the practical marvels that science can achieve. Importantly, the program doesn't stop at student engagement. It also seeks to enlighten school management about the profound benefits of such initiatives. Through their involvement and witnessing the positive impact on students, school administrators become staunch advocates for nurturing scientific curiosity among their student body. This not only enhances the educational ecosystem but also encourages schools to actively support and initiate similar programs.

Ultimately, "Miracle with Science" has a transformative effect. It enriches students' knowledge and appreciation of science, igniting their passion for exploration and discovery. By fostering a culture of scientific curiosity, it contributes significantly to shaping a generation of young minds eager to embrace the endless possibilities that the field of science offers.

Midbrain activation centers have been established in Chandauli, Varanasi, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar (Mughalsarai). Some refer to them as Abacus Brain centers. These centers enroll children between the ages of 5 to 14 years and offer two hours of daily classes for a fee. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in these centers with the promise of enhancing their brain activity.

In these centers, children engage in various activities, including playing puzzle games. They also practice reading books while blindfolded and identifying colors or shapes by touch. When children respond correctly, they are praised, applauded, and motivated.

Children showcase their skills during monthly parent meetings and annual functions, which leaves parents impressed with their children's performance. However, the reality is that these practices can have a negative impact on young minds, fostering a culture of dishonesty and deception.

Children may claim to read books or recognize colors while blindfolded, attributing it to self-proclaimed divine vision rather than admitting they can see from small openings near their eyes. They do this because they receive applause and encouragement for such statements, which makes them happy and encourages them to lie.

After a training session held in DDU Nagar, Chandauli, a group of teachers demonstrated Midbrain Activation activities in local schools. They explained the phenomenon scientifically and revealed the reality behind it. This revelation was met with resistance from the heads of midbrain activation centers because it led to a decrease in the enrollment of children in their centers.

Shivangi Dwivedi

( Former Child Scientist 2018 )

I was a student of class 10th in Vidya Sanskar Public School, Kauriya Kala of Mirzapur District UP and participated from school to nodal level and then to state level NCSC 2018. Now I am in second year MBBS student in Motilal Nehru Medical College prayagraj Uttar Pradesh. Our topic was – To clean contaminated garage water and reuse it in our work.

We got to learn a lot like through NCSC like

1) Confidence to present your work to the public.
2) Understanding science and technology in a new way.
3) Finding a way to solve a problem through new ideas and finding new technology by innovating the things around.
4) Method of writing files...Method of presenting science papers
.
The most important thing is that the experience experienced during that time will remain in the memory throughout life.

I have developed scientific, logical and analytical approach and thinking to do anything in your life. Self decision making capacity increased. Identification of problems and it's solution to solve. Proper documentation and presentation skills improved which are used in your life every day. Thank you

JAYANTI SRIVASTAVA

( Child Scientist, year 2019 )

I'm Child Scientist from Jaycees Chauraha - Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. I was in NEHRU BALODYAN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL When I Participated In NCSC 2019.
I got the opportunity to interact with child scientist from all over india and also from ASIAN Countries as well. If, we talk about the learnings that I got from Participation. These Are -

1. Innovative Thought Process - I Learned a new way to tackle the same old things but this time with a new mindset and energy.

2. Confident Personality - My district and state gave me another level of self confidence which is still boosting me to grow more & more. The moment when I presented myself in front of 1000 child scientist, their guide teachers and judges, I realised to speak up in an effective manner is must.

3. Better & more developed ideas - since, I joined NCSC, I get to guide many students and also, I get to motivate them with my ideas & thoughts which made me much better than others.

4. I got better learning methods - To learn something by executing is the best option to gain knowledge. NCSC taught me this importance as when i Was making my innovation I got to utilise all my knowledge in a single frame and use the "UNIFICATION" term of Physics in true manner.

5. Better analysing techniques - When i reached NCSC National level, I got the chance to realise some of my mistakes that could be avoided using some precautions. I get to learn these from my collegue child scientists and it became my life time learning.
Participating in NCSC truely helped me to gain a better and more developed version of myself in all the aspects whether it is of LEARNING, READING, EXECUTING, GUIDING, ANALYSING And Lastly COLLECTING CONCLUSION.

Today, I'm a much confident personality infront of society and Within Myself. And I Have My Own thinking & analysing powers that separates me from other childrens of my age. NCSC also gave me a reputation in society and everywhere through which everyone still recognise me and this is the best part because everytime I get recognised then I get my old gold memories recalled.

In short, NCSC = Life Changing Experience for me. Each and every student must participate in it once.

Thank You.

Shashikant Vishwakarma,

( Former Child Scientist 2019 )

the son of Mr. Rajendra Prasad and a resident of Ahraura village in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, hails from an ordinary family. At the young age of 15, he participated in the National Children's Science Congress in 2019, showcasing dedication and hard work through innovative experiments and tests. His unique work not only earned him recognition within his school and district but also allowed him to participate at the state and national levels. At the time, he was a Class 9 student at Dr. Savita Memorial Global Academy, and he is currently pursuing his graduation at Allahabad University. His journey of innovation, however, continues to this day.

Shashikant Vishwakarma decided to address the issue of stray animals, which are often considered unproductive and problematic in society. He initiated a solution by selecting stray animals and collecting their dung regularly. Initially, cow dung was used in a cow dung plant, and the extracted dung was compressed to create pots. Shashikant noticed some complexities in the popular pot-making machines that compressed the dung, prompting him to improve and create a simple, lightweight, and cost-effective machine for the purpose. These pots gained popularity among nursery operators, who used them for planting and selling saplings. They also found utility among others for planting seasonal plants and as decorative items in homes. The pots were designed to facilitate seed germination by arranging them in a step-like manner. This innovative compression machine was designed to cost a maximum of Rs. 2000.

Shashikant's unique work has garnered encouragement from various scientific institutions across the country. Many institutions have invited him to their campuses to further pursue his research work. He has received honors and awards from numerous institutions and has been invited to make presentations about his innovation. Some of the institutions include C.S.I.R. New Delhi, N.T.R. F. Hyderabad, C-Map Lucknow, and S. R. I.X Hyderabad, as well as many schools at the district and state levels. He has also actively participated in programs organized by the Uttar Pradesh Science and Technology Council and the District Science Club, formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. Various institutions, including the State Council for Science and Technology UP, have invited him to participate in innovation programs. Shashikant has received mementos, certificates, citations, and cash awards from numerous organizations.

Shashikant attributes his success and innovation journey to his participation in the National Children's Science Congress, emphasizing its pivotal role as an important turning point in his life.

Srishti Vishwakarma

( State child scientist )

I heard about NCSC program when I was studying in class 8th in session 2020-21. I had participated in NCSC State level program in 2020 with my team member Aditi. During this activity I selected the topic of herbal home remedies as alternative of allopathic medicine. Because of this program, I got to learn many new things like making presentations, data collection and graphical representation and about new scientific projects. It was new for me to join online platform like Google meet, Zoom etc. and I learnt that it may be used for educational purpose also. That was time of Covid epidemic NCSC online program motivated me to know our environment better and it was helpful for me to notice many problems that occur in our daily lives and how we can resolve them scientifically. I am very thankful for this program to encouraging me for my better future.

Ananya Mishra

( Former child scientist 2021 )

To learn something new, work for something new. I am Ananya Mishra and l participated in NCSC during session 2021- 22 . I qualified for the national level . It was a learning experience for me throughout the journey from school level to the national level and l learnt a lot regarding my topic , from other's project and even a lot from judge's side. First of all at the school level we did in depth study of the topic through surveys and research work. We learnt about coordination, time bound presentation skills and honed our speaking skills. At the district level we come to find many other projects on various local issues and their solutions, tackled the judge's queries and got learning feedbacks. At the state level we climbed one more level of new and innovative scientific ideas and induced scientific caliber. It was a great achievement to reach the national level where we met renowned scientists and scholars. We got to compete with students of various states and their mind-blowing project ideas that were revolutionary and out of the box.

At the national level we realized that NCSC is more about working as a child scientist, to study your surroundings, pick the issue and come up with an idea to solve it . An idea that can be turned into reality and can is useful for the society at large.

Everyone child has a curious mind but there is need to wake it up and NCSC is a suitable platform to use that curious brain which is sleeping behind the burden of rote - learning.

I study in class seven in Campus Martius Academy, Ikauna Shravasti. One day our teacher told us about NCSC in our school and helped we select the subject. In our subject Spices and Herbs are important for Healthy life, we worked under the guidance of our teacher Mr SK Pandey and that helped us to reach the district and national level through NCSC program, we have learnt what types of problems are, how we can find their solutions through scientific process, what is science and how can we measure any process on scientific criteria? By participating in this event, we met child scientists from across the country with different cultures, languages and customs and understood the confluence of their new ideologies. I am fortunate that with the support of my parents and teachers, I got the opportunity to participate in this great program. We seen India's Unity in Diversity not only the methods but also various types of problems occurring in the society. Understand and find scientific solution based on its data exploring and different types of states, Understanding various aspects of different types of cultures and meeting them thus gained a lot. Things that help in changing life.
